A very compact form of Acmena smithii that can easily be kept pruned under 1m. Glossy fine green foliage with attractive bright red new growth, and if kept regularly trimmed will not produce berries.
Prefers a full sun or part shade position for best results and becomes extremely frost hardy once established. Can be kept trimmed to the desired height and width and can be cut back quite hard to maintain its size. Regular trimming will produce more colourful new growth and keep the plant bushy. Will tolerate dry conditions once established and is reasonably frost tolerant. For best results fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in Spring.
An excellent native plant for 1-2m high hedging or screening. It can also be used for topiary shapes or standards. Its attractive lush looking foliage will blend well into most garden style
